Treat the birds and brighten up the garden with your very own mosaic birdbath.
This relaxed class is all about having the most amount of fun using a variety of materials to create a beautiful mosaic that can live outdoors. No experience is necessary and it doesn’t matter if you cant draw because the focus is very much on playing with and responding to the colourful tiles and china pieces. You will learn the art of mosaic design and practice the skill of cutting and nibbling tiles to get the perfect shape and Emma will walk you through the entire mosaic process from designing to grouting and everything in between.
Emma’s extensive knowledge and experience in teaching mosaic (and crochet but that’s for another time!) make this the perfect class for beginners and for those wishing to expand their mosaic knowledge. When we think of mosaic we often associate them with being outdoors but if you don’t know what you are doing all your hard work can be undone when the frost and rain compromise the stability of your mosaic and loosen your tiles. Once this happens its only a matter of time before your mosaic falls apart….happily there is a solution and this class will teach you everything you need to know to ensure that the garden table you have always wanted to mosaic can live a long and happy life outside!
To get the most out of this experience participants are encouraged to bring along a decorative piece of china that can be incorporated into their work. Charity shops are a haven of teacups and saucers making them a great starting point. It’s not compulsory so don’t worry if you cant find any as there will be some bits available to you on the day. All additional tools and materials are provided and you will leave with a completed mosaic and the additional materials needed to grout your piece at home.
Tea, coffee and cake are provided throughout and please feel welcome to bring a packed lunch if you think you may feel peckish as there will be plenty of opportunity for you to take a little break.

Suitable for the complete beginner and for those who have already attended a mosaic workshop.
Emma will guide you through the use of different materials for outdoor mosaics and have you breaking tiles with ease. This workshop will be all you need to continue on your mosaic journey with confidence, equipping you with the knowledge and know how to mosaic just about anything!
Expect a full on, fun packed 3 hours. All materials* including birdbath are included together with tea, coffee and cake.
*Please feel welcome to bring along any bits of broken china that you would like to incorporate into your mosaic as this is the only thing not supplied on the day. All mosaic tiles, mirror, marbles etc are provided.
